Radio personality Gareth Cliff slammed President Cyril Ramaphosa following his nation address on Sunday.

The controversial radio presenter has expressed that Ramaphosa has no right to decide what South Africans could do or where they could go amid the lockdown.

Under Level 3 lockdown, according to the latest gazette, visiting family and social gatherings are still not permitted in the country as the battle to curb the coronavirus outbreak continues.

On his CliffCentral show this week, the radio personality said the president can’t just make decisions among his National coronavirus Command Council without involving Mzansi before executing it.

“Ah, I think we need to ban alcohol, and they decide among themselves and that’s it and your right to do what you want is gone. He then says there is a curfew and you can’t visit your family. You do not get to decide for free people in a free country whether they can see their mother or father, brother or sister or their children, you don’t get to do that.”

“And any government that tries to do that, even if they say it’s for health reasons, it’s a tyrannical state that is trying to control your behaviour,” he said.
