Notorious ‘gangster’ finally nabbed in Cape Town

The police have finally nabbed a wanted suspect during a house raid in Manenberg, Cape Town, on Wednesday.

The raid took place around 1am after Manenberg police and anti-gang unit received information that led them to a property in Tambo Village.


The suspect was wanted on murder and attempted murder charges.

He was arrested after he was found with drugs, an assault rifle and ammunition.

Police spokesperson, Col Andrè Traut said  “based on intelligence, the members approached the identified residence in Amandla Street … and discovered an assault rifle with ammunition hidden in a wendy house.”

Preliminary investigations also revealed that the 26-year-old was connected with local drug lords and ganag.

“He was also found in possession of several small bags of tik and is also wanted on charges of murder and attempted murder,” said Traut.

“Once charged, the suspect is due to make a court appearance in Athlone for the possession of a prohibited firearm and the possession of drugs,” he said.

He said the police is still investigating how he got the riffle and other cases of murder and attempted murder linked to him.
