Actress Khanyi Mbau ventures into alcohol drink business and she was nothing but excited to announce the launch date to her fans during the early hours of today.
However, fans choose to spill hate on her Gin name which is ‘I Am Khanyi’. She stated that the reason for choosing that name was to be a part of everyone’s joy and celebration.
But, it seems fans ain’t so cool with the name as they throw shade on the gin’s name. The shades seem funny but crippling at the same time.
Here are some tweets on that:
All I’m saying is, Khanyi Mbau should have taken her time naming her gin.

When it’s Johnnie Walker, Tanqueray, Ballantines or Jack Daniels, the name is fine.
But when it’s Khanyi Mbau Gin, we as South Africans think it’s “poor brand name” or “poor branding”.

The gin kinda looks like Khanyi Mbau’s skin, are you sure it’s not what remains of her bathing water? https://t.co/iRsBK41sya

I see gin is the spirit of choice this festive. Sadly, the market is saturated and won’t allow for new entrants to cash in. Alas, good luck to J Something, Jeannie D and Khanyi Mbau?

Khanyi Mbau’s gin would’ve worked if the name was just simply “Khanyi”.
