on

Kwesta’s annual birthday bash tagged “Birthday Explosion” kicks off tomorrow and will hold for another 3 days. The event will hold at the  Bahama Pub and Restaurant, KwaThema, Ekurhulenim and will run till Sunday.

Kwesta opened up on why the event will take place in Katlehong. He said the bash will be taking place there because there weren’t a lot of event being hosted in the area.

“The event grew in popularity and people started demanding we move it to different venues. It’s the first time in Kwa-Thema and we have 50 artists and DJs in the lineup. We want people to enjoy as many genres of music as possible, instead of only hip hop.

“This will ensure people have the time of their lives. It is been a great year for me, so it only makes sense to have a celebration like this.”

He said there will be different themes for each day of the event and one genre will dominate each day’s playlist.

“Friday’s theme is ‘All Black’. It will be a day focused on house music. Saturday’s theme is traffic light colours, so people can dress in green, red or orange.

“A lot of hip hop music will be played that day. On Sunday the theme will be ‘Masks’ and artists like Mafikizolo and Amanda Black will perform laid-back music. I will be performing on all three days.”

Tickets are available at Computicket. General access costs R250 and VIP tickets cost R500.
