The Chatsworth police station has announced to its communities it serves that it is now temporarily closed. This is after staff members tested positive to Covid-19.

Police spokesperson, Brig Jay Naicker said the station has been closed temporarily after staff tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.

The police station had earlier closed in May for decontamination after a constable contracted the virus.

Naicker said the communities the police station serves has been informed about the temporary closure. He said the station’s community service center would operate from a mobile station located at the entrance of the facility. The police station building will however be decontaminated and the public would be informed when full activities of the police station will resume its operation.

Police management apologises for any inconvenience that may arise from this. To access the station, the community can call 031 451 4267 or 10111 and complaints will be attended to accordingly,” said Naicker.
