Two of three suspects shot dead during church robbery
Two robbery suspects were reported to have been shot dead in a church in Wierdapark, Centurion, while the last suspect was able to escape using a getaway car parked outside the church premises on Sunday.
The police spokesperson, Brig Mathapelo Peters said reports from the scene suggest that the three suspects stormed into the church during a service and robbed congregants.
They snatched the congregants personal belongings at gunpoint.
One of the congregants allegedly fired shots which hit two suspects and fatally wounded them while the third one was able to escape by running outside.
The pastor was said to have sustained minor injuries but was treated immediately on site.
Police members at the scene recovered one firearm.
