The day-two of the protest in Happy Valley near Blackheath, Capetown took another turn on Tuesday when a Truck was petrol bombed.
According the police spokesperson, Colonel Andre Traut, some police officers were deployed in Blackheath to monitor the activities of the protesters where a truck had been set alight.
“A case of public violence has been opened and the circumstances are being investigated,” Traut said.
He also said that the Police will remain in the area on high alert to maintain law and order.
However, Cape Town traffic services spokesperson, Richard Coleman confirmed that the R300 which was closed between Van Riebeek and Hindle Way was reopened,
45 people were arrested on Monday following violent protests in various parts of Cape Town.

The protests was fostered by a pressure group called “Gatvol Capetonian” with the intents to peacefully shut down the metro.
