Construction collapse in Pretoria, one dead and four injured
One person has died after a structural collapse at a construction site in Rietfontein, Pretoria.
This sad incident happened on Thursday, 30 July.
Four other people were injured as well.
According to Netcare911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, he said the accident happened as a result of the cement on the top floor.
“Reports from the scene indicate that workers had been pouring cement on the top floor, which gave way,”
The incident happened on Nico Smith Street.
Four men sustained moderate injuries and were treated at the scene before being transported to a hospital by a private ambulance.
“Another adult male believed to be in his late thirties sustained fatal injuries in the collapse and was declared deceased on the scene,” said Herbst.
