14 officials implicated in Beitbridge border fence report

on

Patricia de Lille, Public Works Minister has said a report on the Beitbridge fence has cleared her name.

The report recommends disciplinary action against 14 senior Public Works officials.

The fence between South Africa and Zimbabwe was built in March in order to help control the spread of COVID-19.

But its procurement and construction were questionable.

The department is searching to blacklist the company that constructed the Beitbridge fence.

One of the recommendation that came from the investigation is that we need to start a process with Treasury to blacklist the company,” said De Lille.
