COVID-19: Warning of possible surge in Gauteng

on

There has been a warning from Gauteng’s Coronavirus Command Council saying that it is not yet over, and calls for more vigilance.

The province might see a decline in COVID-19 infections. However, Gauteng Premier David Makhura said there is still a long way forward.

We are now in August, we are still going through the storm of COVID-19, we said at the beginning of June that COVID-19 has arrived, that storm had arrived in Gauteng,” Makhura said.

We are seeing some positive developments in terms of the reductions, but we still say, the road ahead is still long.”

Makhura also mentioned that COVID-19 is a new disease so we need to learn from the rest of the world and continuously adapt in our efforts to overcome the pandemic.

The province has 2,761 COVID-19 related deaths and 152,061 recoveries.
