Mkhize: WHO surge team to make available fresh eyes

Sixteen surge team members who were assembled by WHO have arrived in South Africa.


Zweli Mkhize, Health Minister said the team members will be providing fresh eyes to the country’s COVID-19 situation.

While Mkhize was making his speech, he welcomed the first members of the World Health Organization surge team to South Africa.

They will be in help with the government as regards COVID-19 response.

The 16 team members have now arrived in the country and when the team is complete there will be 43. Those that are already with us have begun an orientation period to ensure there is optimal alignment of programmes… they will look at our situation with fresh eyes,” said Mkhize.
