Nasty C speaks on why he doesn’t rap in Zulu

Nasty C appreciates his sound, but he isn’t compromising it with other African sounds.

During an interview with Okay Africa’a journalists, the rapper says he isn’t considering experimenting other sounds in Africa, though, he doesn’t mind featuring, if invited to work with other artists who work with such beats.


“Only when I’m featured,” and added that he’s comfortable with who he is, and has no desire to playing to the confines of what an African artist is supposed to sound like. “I want the world to know there’s more than just Afrobeats in Africa,” he said.

Nasty C says he loves the way he raps in English, though he’s set to blow people’s mind, as he sang in Zulu on one of the tracks on his Zulu Man With Some Power album, expected to be released on the 28th of August.

“Even my Zulu verses,” he added, “I kept them for my album. Everyone had been saying ‘you from Durban, why do you never rap in Zulu?” the rap star said.

Meanwhile, the rapper condemned claims that he rushed his album because A-Reece teased the release of his project, Paradise 2.
