A motorist has warned other motorists to stay away from R52 near Mahikeng for now.
According to him, nails left on the road successfully punctured four cars and left the commuters stranded.
Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area as the witness claims more motorists had fallen victim to the nails left on the road.
The witness said that 30km before getting to Koster, more than four cars experienced the unexpected punctures.
He explained that the route identified is between Koster and Lichtenburg (R52).
Motorists were forced to seek help as a result of the punctures in their car tyres which left them stranded.
It is still unclear how the nails got scattered on the road.
