South African late legend, Mary Twala stars in the film, This Is Not A Burial, It’s A Resurrection, and she’s bagged Best Actress Award for her role.
Hong Kong International Film Festival gave the film 3 awards.
The Resurrection family took to social media to announce the great news, which Somizi (son of the late legend, Mary) reposted.
“The late Mary Twala Mhlongo, who plays the fearless widow in the film, was also named Best Actress.”
The film was made by a Mosotho filmmaker and directed by Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese.
“The film received a commendation from the jury, “for its highly original combination of approaches… that invokes ancient storytelling traditions for its modern tale of grief channeled into social action.”
Somizi reacts to his mother’s award saying: “She didnt die…..she multiplied…..she stays winning.”

The legend who passed on few months ago was on Beyonce’s music film, Black Is King, and the singer alongside her mother paid tribute to Mary immediately they got informed of her passing.
