A key official at Nelson Mandela Bay has been arrested.
Hawks arrested the acting municipal manager, Mvuleni Mapu early this morning.
According to Lwando Zenzile, Hawks spokesperson, the acting municipal manager was arrested on the charges of fraud and corruption linked to the human settlements department.
The official was arrested on Friday around 4.55am.
He said another person was arrested alongside the official but she is not a municipal official.
However, the woman owns a company that works with the municipality which makes her a suspect.
Zenzile has said that they are not done with the arrest as investigations will still continue.
“We are continuing with our arrests,” he said.
