In the last 24 hours, the Health Department reported 3,398 new COVID-19 cases
The Health Department reported that there were new 225 COVID-19 related deaths, which pushes to total death toll to 12,843.
In the last 24 hours, the department reported 3,398 new COVID-19 cases.
Apparently, with confirmed infections now at 603,338, South Africa has now exceeded the 600,000 mark in relation to the number of COVID-19 cases.
Currently, the Western Cape is still leading, having the highest number of fatalities in the country with 3,713 deaths. Gauteng follows behind, having 3,190 deaths, followed by Eastern Cape, having a total of 2,753 deaths.
Over four weeks now, there’s been a decline in the number of new cases from over 12,000 per day to an average of about 4,000 per day.
Moreover, the recovery rate stands at 82%, while the recoveries has gotten to over half a million.
