Khama Billiat’s mother has come to her son’s defence after facing criticism by critics about his contribution to Amakhosi’s run since the resumption of the league
Rosa Billiar said her son is passing through a tough moment and which is similar to the experience he had while he was at Mamelodi Sundowns under coach Pitso Mosimane.
However, Billiat has been struggling for form this season, especially after the resumption of local football since the onset of COVID-19.
Rosa believes her son will get back to his amazing form soon enough and also help Chiefs win the Absa Premiership league.
On Wednesday night, the Warriors international performed quite well and scored the winning goal against Chippa United.
This means Amakhosa are drawing closer to winning their first league title in five seasons.
“I remember at one time, at Sundowns, there was talk from fans that ‘Khama must go and Pitso [Mosimane] must go’ but, after that, he fully recovered from an injury,’’ Rosa told The Herald.
“He went on to win awards, together with his coach. So, I have seen this before, and know that it happens in football and it shall pass. I am not really worried. What I know is Khama is passionate about football, he loves football.”
Rosa also commented about the rumours surrounding Billiat’s age and said:
“My child never cheated, when it comes his age, at any stage in his career,’’ said Rosa.
Moreover, Billiat’s father – Mustapha is hoping Chiefs win the league title so his son would be commended for his efforts and contributions.
