Slain 16-year-old Nathaniel Julies will be laid to rest on Saturday.
His family disclosed that Eldorado Park community are opportune to pay their respect to Julies in a vigil tonight.
The vigil would be held tonight at 7pm at the Hillbrow flats to remember Julies.
Nathaniel Julies who had down syndrome was allegedly shot multiple times last week Wednesday by police officers few metres away from his home where he went to buy food.
Julies death sparked protest in the Eldorado Park community last week Thursday.
Three officers have been arrested so far in connection to the crime.
Although, the trio claimed that Julies was caught in a crossfire during an alleged gang violence but his family argued that he was murdered.
However, his mother, Bridgette Harris, appreciated all South Africans for their strong support over the past week.
She was hopeful that justice would be served.
“It’s giving the family new hope because for a while there we thought ‘you know how the system works, they’re buying the evidence and everything goes wrong but now, there’s a third suspect that’s been caught and now we can really say that there’ll be justice. We have hope now.”
The third suspect will be in Protea Magistrates Court for his first appearance on Thursday.
