Lt-Gen Tebello Mosikili becomes Hawks national deputy head

Hawks have revealed its new deputy national head.

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) said on Wednesday that Lt-Gen Tebello Constance Mosikili is the new deputy national head.


Lt-Gen Yolisa Matakata who held the deputy national head position for three years and currently the provincial police commissioner in the Western Cape has been replaced with Mosikili.

According to Hawks, Mosikili is an accomplished investigator.

She spent 21 years of her total 31 years’ experience in the SAPS.

She served as an investigator at various levels.

She became the provincial commander of visible policing in 2010.

In 2011, she returned to the investigation environment.

She occupied other notable positions such as the deputy provincial commissioner, station commander, cluster commander, deputy provincial commissioner management intervention and component head FCS at national level.

“Her dedication and commitment to the investigative duties of the organisation, coupled with extensive knowledge and experience in the respective field, has paid off.”

“She is an investigative solutionist and strategic leader who brings with her a wealth of investigative and operational expertise coupled with her understanding of the criminal justice system,” said the Hawks.

The national head of the Hawks, Lt-Gen Godfrey Lebeya, said that Mosikili’s skills “will contribute to the performance of the directorate”.
