Kaizer Chiefs are expecting a decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This is after their transfer ban appeal.
Kaizer Chiefs received a two-window transfer ban by Fifa. The ban was due to illegal signing of Madagascan international ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana in 2018.
However, Chiefs have brought their case before CAS and appealed the decision on Wednesday.
“Kaizer Chiefs’ appeal against their two-window transfer ban was heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) today, Wednesday 09 September,” read a statement from the club.
“The club will await the outcome on whether the appeal is successful or not.”
Moreover, since Ernst Middendorp has been sacked on Wednesday, Chiefs are began their hunt for a new and preferable coach.
Those who are likely to be linked for the position include:
- Gavin Hunt,
- Benni McCarthy, and
- Eric Tinkler.
Hunt looks to be in suitable position for the position, having won four Absa Premiership titles – three with SuperSport United and one with Bidvest Wits.
However, Hunt said he hasn’t been in talks with Chiefs over the position as head coach.
“No one (from Chiefs) has spoken to me,” said Hunt on Wednesday.
