Khanye says the gate is open for more people to exit Chiefs

Despite the sack of Ernst Middendorp and his assistant coach due to their inability to clinch the league title for Mamelodi Sundowns, Junior Khanye still believes the management and board of directors should leave the gate open for more people to exit the club

Khanye feels disappointed to witness Chiefs slip off from the top of the league on the very last day of Absa Premiership.

They ended the last-day match on a 1-1 draw with Baroka FC.

The former Kaizer Chiefs forward also mentioned that the board of directors of Chiefs made the right decision after they sacked Middendorp and his assistant, but he said there are some players in the team who also needs to leave the club alongside the German coach.

Chiefs made the right decision to release the coach,” Khanye told Phakaaathi.

“But firing the coach is not enough, some of the players that were signed at the start of the season, even some that were already there from last season don’t deserve to be at Chiefs.”

They should keep Khune, Ngcobo, Billiat and Frosler, get a good technical team consisting of Zipho Dlangalala, Sam Mbatha, Mandla Mazibuko and Lehlohonolo Seema – with Tinkler and Cavin Johnson in the mix they can build a team around them they players.  Then they can release all the other players and get those that will fit into the playing style of South African football.”
