Two men have been arrested on Monday in connection with an attempted business robbery that involved six armed men at Cresta Shopping Centre.
It has been reported on Monday morning that six armed men visited a shop and allegedly held employees at gunpoint.
Immediately one of the staff members yelled out for help, the men sped off on foot which saw a security guard chase after the gang.
Thereafter, two of the suspects took over two cars in a complex in Fairlands but before they could escape, the police and the guard blocked them.
Police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo said:
“Police are still searching for the suspects that fled the scene. No injuries were reported and police are appealing to anyone who might have information that can help apprehend the other suspects to call their nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
