The numbers have started to rise in Europe.
The coronavirus pandemic has killed over 944,000 people and infected over 30 million worldwide.
The European chapter of the World Health Organization on Thursday disclosed that they predicted the “alarming rates of transmission” of COVID-19 across the European region.
The chapter also said it warned countries against shortening quarantine periods.
WHO’s regional director for Europe Hans Kluge said “the September case numbers… should serve as a wake-up call for all of us”.
“Although these numbers reflect more comprehensive testing, it also shows alarming rates of transmission across the region,” he told a press conference.
The health organisation said it is really bothered about European countries that chose to shorten quarantine requirements.
