An unlucky incident at a place of work has left a a Durban man with injuries.
The man was in a critical condition after a shelf laden with metal pipes fell on him.
The incident happened at a factory in Springfield Park where the victim works.
Rescue Care team narrated that the incident happened around midday on Tuesday..
“Rescue Care paramedics together with other private ambulance services arrived on the scene to find a male, believed to be in his 30s, severely entrapped under several metal pipes,” Rescue said.
Paramedics had to stabilise the injured man while the Durban fire department worked on freeing the victim from the debris.
After he was freed, he was airlifted to a nearby medical facility for necessary treatments.
“At this stage the events leading up to the incident are unknown.”
“Police were on the scene and will be investigating further,” Rescue Care said.
