62-year old pastor who allegedly sexually assaulted five little girls have been apprehended by the police.
The girls reported to their parents that Pastor Christian Meyer handed them sweets and oranges to keep shut. These girls are aged between age 8 and 10.
On Wednesday, Meyer was apprehended at his home in Fisantekraal and came before the court on Friday.
A group of enraged parents and residents held a protest right outside the Bellville Magistrates’ Court and called for the accused to be locked behind bars by handing a petition to the court.
However, the matter was adjourned to 29 September for bail information.
A 29-year old mother of four said her daughter was among the victims.
“We found out that he’s been abusing them for months now. The children told us that he would buy them sweets and oranges to lure them to his house, he uses his house for his church.”
“These children are looking for love and attention, but not the kind of love he is offering.”
She said they got to know about the abuse about two weeks ago.
“The children came out with everything and we immediately went to the police.”
“He was arrested on Wednesday in Yolanda du Preez Straat in Fisantekraal.”
“The children were all taken to Karl Bremer Hospital and doctors confirmed they were s.e.xually assaulted.”

Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed:
“A case of s.e.xual assault was opened for investigation after five girls aged between eight and ten were allegedly s.e.xual assaulted.”
“A 62-year-old man was arrested on 16 September 2020, he appeared in court on Friday and was remanded in custody.”
