Top five PSL players of 2019/20 season

During 2019/20 Premier Soccer League (PSL), several players performed exceptionally well, which caught the eyes of fans and coaches

Check out the top five PSL players who were put up an outstanding performance throughout 2019/20 campaign.


1. Peter Shalulile (Highlands Park)

The 27-year old is a fast-paced striker who enjoyed his breakout season in the PSL and scored a lot of goals for Highlands Park.

He has a unique ability which sees him convert opportunities into goals and this makes him one of the best strikers in the league.

He scored 16 beautiful goals and became the first Namibian player to win the PSL Golden Boot award.

2. Lebogang Manyama (Kaizer Chiefs)

Manyama is an experienced midfielder/striker and among the most outstanding players in the league.

He is well known for his creative ability to create and score goals, which saw him to be among the league’s joint-most assists (9) and also crowned it with six goals.

3. Frank Mhango (Orlando Pirates)

The miniature forward striker worked hard to make him one of the best players in the country and also was a source of inspiration to Orlando Pirates, which saw them finish on top-three in the league.

Mhango is a fast placer and has a sharp finish for scoring goals. He scored 13 goals between November 2019 and January 2020.

The Malawi international was awarded PSL Player of the Month for January 2020.

4. Themba Zwane (Mamelodi Sundowns)

Zwane, who is a skillful attacker, enjoyed his best season in the PSL and was one of the players that helped Mamelodi Sundowns clinch the 2019/20 Absa Premiership League title.

He is an unselfish player, having good playmaking skills, technique, dribbling skills and a perfect eye for goals. He scored 11 goals with seven league assists.

5. Samir Nurkovic

Nurkovic joined Kaizer Chiefs from Slovak club KFC Komarno in July 2019 and has since established himself as one of the best strikers in the country.

He is known to put his strength and ability to scoring goals, which saw him score 13 goals.

Nurkovic won the PSL’s Goal of the Month for December 2019.
