Hawks Narcotics Enforcement Bureau have seized Tik worth over R300,000 from a house in Grassy Park after following a tip-off on Wednesday.
A 52-year-old woman was also arrested.
Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani said that “upon searching the house, they allegedly found tik with an estimated street value of R300,000.”
The suspect is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Hani also mentioned that two alleged abalone smugglers had been arrested in Table View on Wednesday.
The arrest was after Hawks uncovered an illegal abalone drying facility.
During the bust, the security body confiscated abalone worth R1.6 million.
“Two suspects, aged 31 and 41, were subsequently arrested.”
“This arrest was done in collaboration with the Hawks, Crime Intelligence and officials from the Department of Forestry and Fisheries.
