Durban man’s dead body found at south coast golf course after he went missing

Missing Divashin Naidu was found dead at a south coast golf course on Saturday.

After a week-long hunt for a Durban man, he was eventually found dead, hanging from a tree at a south coast golf course on Saturday.

He went missing on October 15 when he failed to return to his family’s Amanzimtoti flat and since then an intensive hunt began for Divashin Naidu (28).


He was last seen heading to the local beach.

Police spokesperson Capt Nqobile Gwala said:

We can confirm the incident that took place on October 24 at 7.15 am at Scottburgh golf course when a male believed to be in his 20s was found hanging from a tree.”

An inquest docket was opened at Scottsburg police station for investigation.”

The man was reported missing at Amanzimtoti police station,” said Gwala.

PT Alarms posted on Facebook, confirming Naidu’s death.

“The family is in a deep state of shock and is mourning the loss of their loved one. We respect their right to privacy at this time.”

Naidu’s death was a shock to all and a lot showed their grief on social media, with many describing it as “shocking” and “heartbreaking.”

One person wrote: “Parents’ worst nightmare has come true. When you bury your child it’s the worst feeling ever.”
