Meyiwa was killed in 2014 when he paid a visit to his girlfriend’s (Singer Kelly Khumalo) home in Vosloorus
An internal document dropped by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to reporters who were in court on Tuesday showed details of the five suspects apprehended for the murder of footballer Senzo Meyiwa.
Meyiwa was killed in 2014 when he paid a visit to his girlfriend’s (Singer Kelly Khumalo) home in Vosloorus.
Some of the details of the investigation document included the allegations of one of the defendants, which are consistent with the facts of the case.
Additionally, the NPA wanted an explanation as to why the EMPD officers transported the five accused suspects for confession and not to the South African Police Service.
The indictment sheet also reveals that defendant number five contacted Khumalo by phone and that it was mentioned that a lender had given Khumalo money to “apparently pay hitmen and that the lender was harassing her on paying this loan.”
