Police have arrested the father and the boyfriend of a 15-year-old Limpopo girl for rape and statutory rape, respectively.
Police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe narrated that the 40-year-old father from a village in Giyani, went to search for her after she left their home on Saturday.
The father found her at the home of her 25-year-old boyfriend.
He took her away from his house and and brought her to the local police station to open a case of statutory rape.
The police decided to send the girl to a social worker for a further assessment.
There, it was revealed that the teenager’s father allegedly raped her on separate occasions last year and this year.
It was also reported that the father allegedly threatened her not to tell anyone.
The two men have been taken to custody and are expected to appear before the Giyani Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Ngoepe said that police is still investigating this matter.
