That said, the wide range of symptoms, which can go from mild to severe medical complications, continue to increase and expand in numbers. As per a recent report, three new symptoms could be early indicators of Covid-19.

Swollen tongue
Coronavirus patients evaluated under the study reported serious infection inside the mouth, leading to the formation of white patches and inflammation. This rare condition has been called “COVID tongue” by many scientists and medical professionals and has been associated with loss of sense of taste – another common symptom of Covid-19.

Burning sensation and redness on the palms and soles of the feet
Apart from the swollen tongue, about 15 per cent of the patients complained of experiencing a burning sensation and redness on their palms and soles of their feet, followed by the appearance of small patches on the same areas.
As per Dr Almudena Nuno‐Gonzalez, the lead researcher of the study, said in an interview, “Almost half of the patients with mild‐to‐moderate Covid‐19 admitted in a field‐hospital during a two‐week period showed mucocutaneous findings.” Besides that, he added by saying that oral cavity was also a cause of concern in many patients and needed special examination from time to time.
