South Africa is in a messy situation as some citizens of the country drifted from protesting for the release of Jacob Zuma to looting supermarkets and destroying goods.
Using the hashtag Shutdown SA, most persons on social media have expressed their disappointment at the ongoing incident in the country.
Celebrities like Cassper Nyovest, DJ Maphorisa, Khanyi Mbau, Lootlove Luthando and many others have reacted to the country’s unrest.
“Unfortunately this was a long time coming. People are hungry and frustrated. Our leaders have beeen looting and pushing corruption right in front of our eyes for the longest time. This is the example that they set. They’ve failed us and that’s what it is,” actress Mapula Mafole said.

Guys please stop phoning my mother! I have a 75-year-old woman at home terrified because you guys are telling her about what I’ve been posting in the last couple of hours. I’m doing my job and doing my best to keep safe. Just stop it!

Been hearing from individuals who have lost so much in these fucking protests. People whose livelihoods have been affected. People who will now not have jobs. People who don’t know where to go to get food now. Saw an older woman crying on the news. This is not ok 🥺
