Legendary Lesotho musician Tsepo Tshola has passed on after battling Covid19 which landed him in hospital.
South Africans are shocked by the news of his passing and tributes flood social media immediately his passing was announced.
“Tshepo Tshola has been part of every celebration and loss in most of our homes. Ha hona mokete kapa lefu mo o sa utlwing Ntate Tshepo Tshola teng. It’s like his voice held space for black joy and black pain. It feels like someone just shot a missile through our artistic DNA,” Dineo Langa said.
Tshola was an award-winning jazz musician whose debut album ‘A New Dawn’ received critical acclaim.
In the 70s, Tshola was part of a musical group called Sankomota.
