Amapiano genre has embraced lots of music artists within the past one year, but it’s heartbreaking to see the first ever Amapiano Awards water down the efforts of these musicians.
On Monday, 19th of July, nominees for Amapiano awards were announced on Mac G’s Podcast and Chill.
The list of nominees has left South Africans divided, but united on the names of musicians that didn’t appear on the list.
These snubbed artists have the biggest songs in SA, while some have produced the biggest Amapiano songs in SA.
Lets take a look at top amapiano stars who didn’t get nominated.
- VIRGO DEEP – These young music producer gave the world the biggest Amapiano sound in 2020, and it even stole the heart of Nigerian super star, Davido. Virgo Produced Ke Star, the vocalist of the song is Focalistic, they both co-owned it. It was later remixed by Davido. Virgo has produced lots of hit songs, and he’s worked with other Amapiano vocalists like Kamo Mphela.
- DJ SUMBODY – The DJ has one of the biggest song in the country titled, Iyamemeza. He’s also dropped hot piano songs years ago.
- Zuma – The young amapiano star has songs played all over clubs and parties. He worked with other artists on this hit song, Umsebenzi Wethu.
