Qwabe Twins are puzzled and shocked at the nominations bagged at South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA) 2021.
The two became known after competing with other talents on Idols SA, season 15, but their exit from the show gave them a huge breakthrough.
They got nominated in the following category: Best Traditional House Music, Best Female Artist/Group and Best Traditional Collaboration.
Expressing how they feel about these nominations, Viggy said: “We are still young in the industry and we are still learning. Being nominated at big awards like this came as a surprise. Saying we are excited would be an understatement. We are shocked, puzzled and we still can’t believe it. Do we deserve this? We don’t know, we are in a state of shock. We understand these are the second awards that we are nominated in after the KZN Entertainment Awards last year, but this one is bigger and in the national level.”
“We have learnt discipline, loving our craft and working hard. We have also learnt to remain humble all the time. We thank God for everything. Coming from a praying family has also played a huge role in keeping us strong,” she added.
Virgina celebrated the nod as a win even if they walk home without bagging an award; she’s more grateful about their growth in the industry, despite entering in 2019.
