It is not a great feeling when a guys turn you down because they are afraid of long distance relationships or just do not like them.
There is always a reason why guys are scared of long distance relationships, as it hurts and can sometimes be confusing to you.

1. Loneliness is hard to deal with
Loneliness is one of the hardest things to deal with in a relationship that is long distance. Even though the two of you are still able to communicate by messaging or calling it still does not quite feel like you aren’t alone.
This can be a hard thing for a guy or anybody in a relationship that is long distance to deal with. Long distance is a big reason why guys are sometimes scared or nervous about getting into a relationship.
2. The possibility of cheating
In any relationship there is a very real possibility that cheating could happen. With that said, in a relationship that is long distance the chances can sometimes be higher.
A lot of times when people get lonely they seek the attention of someone else because their significant other is not around to help with that feeling. There isn’t an excuse for cheating but a lot of people have a reason for it. With that said this is usually a big reason for why guys are afraid of long distance relationships.
3. Physical contact is important
Physical contact is an important part of a relationship. It is normally very limited in a relationship that is long distance.
People want that physical contact that comes with a relationship and getting into a relationship that is long distance keeps people from having a lot of that. This can scare guys away from the thought of a relationship that is long distance.
4. You have to make sacrifices
Sacrifices are to be made in any relationship but there tend to be more in a relationship that is long distance. There has to be commitment and the willingness to make sacrifices.
Some sacrifices are giving up sexual intimacy for a long period of time, the possibility of one of you moving, not being able to be around each other. These sacrifices are tough on anybody and a lot of people just do not even want to take a chance on it.
5. The lack of sexual intimacy
Sexual intimacy is different from physical contact: physical contact is more about hugging, handholding, and the physical warmth of the other person. Sexual intimacy is in a different spot of its own.
A lot of guys are scared about getting into a relationship that is long distance because of lack of sexual intimacy. It is not an easy thing to overcome and a lot of guys tend to be afraid that they will fail or that they aren’t able to go that long without sexual intimacy.
6. They might be scared of wasting time
The possibility of not lasting is possible in any relationship. With a relationship that is long distance you tend to hear that they fail a lot more than regular relationships. This is because there are a lot of risks and a lot of sacrifices that people have to make or have to be willing to make.
A lot of guys usually don’t want to make those risks and they also don’t want to risk wasting their time. They don’t want to have to deal with the heartbreak and everything that comes with that for nothing.
