Aloe Vera has been used for years by the natural hair community and is one of the major ingredients used in hair products.
If you want to promote the shine and moisture in your hair, aloe Vera should be your best friend.
You can plant yours and use it directly from the plant or use products heavily formulated with aloe.
Here is how you can use aloe Vera in your haircare routine.
1. Use it as pre poo
Pre pop is the application of a beneficial substance before you shampoo or cleanse your hair. Aloe vera is anti-fungal and antimicrobial which will help with any scalp issues you have, so it’s great to incorporate it before you cleanse your hair to help break up and rid your scalp and roots of any dandruff and product gunk. It also leaves the scalp’s pH level balanced and hair moisturized.
2. Use it as a conditioner
The gel from the plant can be used to condition your hair at home. Just scrape out the gel and put it into a bowl. You can add your favorite oil to the gel and apply it to your hair root to tip. Cover with a plastic cap and leave it for a while. This is the ultimate moisture treatment.
3. Use it as a cleanser
As said earlier, aloe vera helps break up and cleanses your scalp from any product build up. Get your gel into a bowl and add a few drops of lemon juice. Whip the mixture in the bowl with a spoon so it mixes up perfectly. Spread the mix all over your scalp and gently rub your scalp to get rid of build up and debris. Wash it out after a while and condition the hair.
4. Use it in your spray bottle
Get the gel out of the plant and put it in a blender. Add enough water to make a liquid spray and essential oils and blend it all. Pour the mixture into your spray bottle and spritz it in your hair anytime you want to touch it or style it.
5. Add it to your shampoo
If you want to increase the effects of your shampoo and reduce the effects of it stripping your hair, mix your shampoo with the gel and wash your hair as normal.
We hope these tips help you out.
