Zodwa Wabantu says the ancestor stopped her showing up at a gig.
The entertainer got called out by an event organiser, Deborah “Dee” Dlamini, for not attending the event she was booked for in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni.
Zodwa reportedly asked for a deposit of R10 000 for the R20 000 gig, and she got what she wanted only for her to not show up on Saturday, 4 June, at the Men’s Cave event, held at The Farm Guest Lodge.
“I only want her to acknowledge that she made a mistake or forgot, and send an apology. She must also refund me,” said Dee.
The organiser said there’s no bad blood between them, but all she wants is a refund as she hopes they work together in the future.
Explaining why she was absent, Zodwa said her ancestors told her to stay at home that day.
“Yes, I know Dee. It’s just that I was held back by amadlozi to not go as they needed my attention during that day,” she said.
However, she’s apologetic and desires to pay back the money; she hopes to return for another performance in Joburg.
