6 healthy snacks that’s perfect for movie binge watching

The weekend has arrived, so is your watch-list! We all look forward to the weekend with two things in mind, endless sleep and binge-watching.


Binge-watching goes with binge-eating or binge-munching and snacking. No binge-watching is complete without having a bowl full of tasty snacks.

However, no matter how much we love binge-watching, we should not indulge ourselves in mindless eating.

Here are few healthy snacking options for you, so that you enjoy your weekend movie binge and do not neglect your health:

1. Makhana

What else can be a better snack than a bowl of fox nuts or makhana! These are the powerhouse of antioxidants and are the healthiest things to replace it with any sort of snack.

All you need to do is simply roast the makhana with a small amount of ghee. Sprinkle some seasoning after the fox nuts are roasted properly.

2. Popcorn

No, we are not talking about sugar or spice loaded popcorns! We are talking about popcorn cooked in less oil. These super healthy cooked popcorn make a great addition to binge watching and do not waste your health.

3. Hummus and vegetable sticks

Hummus is loaded with protein, fibre and is low on glycemic index. These are tasty too! You can couple this hummus with vegetable sticks like carrot, cucumber and healthy vegetable chips.

Hummus is prepared from chickpeas. Properly cooked and mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, garlic, chilli and olive oil.

4. Roasted chickpeas

It may sound difficult to prepare at home, but the fact is it is pretty easy. Cook chickpeas and marinate them with spices of choice. Roast the chickpeas for around 40 minutes.

Roasted chickpeas with the spices of your choice will be a great addition to your Sunday binge watching.

5. Vegetable chips

Have you ever thought of air frying your favorite veggies? Thin slices of vegetables like carrot, beetroot baked or air fried for around 30 minutes can be the best thing to bite into while watching your favorite movies.

You can add any flavour to these chips which are like blank canvases.

6. ​Banana chips

Fried banana chips will give a delightful twist to your palate. These are super easy to make too.

Slice the bananas and dip them in a solution of water, salt and turmeric. Keep it there for 5 minutes. Take it out of the solution and drain it completely. Heat the oil and fry the chips on high heat.

These chips can be stored for weeks.
