4 best egg white recipes for weight loss

Weight loss can be tricky, especially if you lose track of your diet after eating all the sweets and delicacies during festive period.


In order to lose your extra weight, you need to get back to exercise, along with monitoring your diet.

One of the best foods which you can eat to fill yourself up – whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner – are egg whites.

Egg whites are high in protein and low in calories. One egg white has approximately 15 calories and contains no fat or carbs.

So, take out the eggs from your fridge and get whisking for some mouth-watering, filling meals.

1. Egg white omelet

Break 2 eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. Now, heat one tablespoon of oil in a large, shallow pan. Add 1/2 small, chopped onion; 3 medium, chopped mushrooms; and 1/4 small, chopped capsicum. Sauté for a while. Take the egg whites in a bowl, add salt as per taste and whisk. Add this to the pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle a pinch of white pepper powder. One the eggs set, drizzle some oil along the sides and flip the omelet. Cook properly from both sides and serve hot.

2. Classic egg white scramble

Take 4 egg whites and lightly beat them. Add ¼ cup of milk, salt and pepper as per taste, and beat it well again. Now, heat a little olive oil in a large non-stick skillet. Once hot, pour in the egg mixture. As the eggs begin to set, gently pull the eggs from outside to the inside of the pan, using a spatula. Continue pulling, lifting and folding eggs until it’s all cooked. No raw, liquid egg should remain. Your scrambled eggs are ready! Serve hot.

3. ​Boiled egg white chaat

Boil 3 eggs and let them cool. Once cooled, remove the shell. Cut the boiled eggs vertically into two and scoop out the yolk. Now, In a bowl, mix 1 tbsp tomato ketchup, 1 tsp tomato chili sauce, 3 tsp tamarind extract, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp roasted cumin, 1 green chili finely chopped and salt as per taste. Now take a plate and spread this tangy chutney over the boiled eggs. You can also sprinkle some chopped onions and tomatoes on the top, along with some garam masala. Enjoy!

4. Egg white oatmeal

Add ½ cup old fashioned oats, ½ banana slices, ½ teaspoon cinnamon and a pinch of salt to a pot. Add ½ cup water and ½ cup milk and stir to combine. Heat over medium heat for 6-7 minutes. Keep stirring constantly while cooking. Now, add ¼ cup egg whites into the oats and stir constantly. You do not have to scramble the egg whites in the oats. Instead, constant stirring should help you achieve a thick, fluffy consistency. Once the oatmeal is cooked properly, transfer it into a bowl and add your favorite toppings like peanut butter, granola, bananas, frozen raspberries etc.
