It is not every day that you see a person forced to let go of their love and choose money only so that they can survive the harsh, ruthless world.

In today’s times when money rules over everything, choosing love can be very difficult.

But those who make the grave and difficult decision of choosing money over love are not faint-hearted. That path is joyless, lonely and filled with perils.

To understand intricately the effect money has on people, we bring to you 5 women who anonymously share why they had to choose money over love.

1. Love won’t pay your bills

“At the end of the day, if I can’t feed myself, my partner or my family, what is the use of love? It is not going to pay the bills. It can only strengthen my heart but that is not all when I have to take care of the entire family. And so, I had to marry a wealthy person and let go of my childhood love, as soon I realised the harsh reality of life.”

2. It’s important to have support

“To be honest, I wouldn’t have married my husband if it wasn’t for his money. He isn’t handsome nor does he have a charismatic personality. But he is very supportive and a good father. He has been there for me in the toughest situations. Even though I don’t love him, I would still choose him.”

3. Luxurious but unfaithful lives

“I got married for money. I chose that life. With luxuries to spend, I had everything. But my husband and I have been unfaithful to each other. Money never guarantees love. If you incline towards money, you will never be able to find love. As I didn’t.”

4. Love never lasts during crisis

“I married my second husband for his money. I didn’t make the mistake of marrying a man for love because my marriage with my first husband was horrible. Our love didn’t last when there was the pressure of putting a meal on the table. But now with my second husband, life is so much easier.”

5. There’s a lot of fighting

“Things might be easier but when there’s no love in a marriage, there are only fights. I got married at the age of 22 only so my family never goes through a tough time anymore. But your mental health just takes a hit because there is no tenderness or love between you and your partner.”
