Nandi Madida speaks of her expectation for the Amapiano genre in a tweet shared on Thursday.

The multi-talented star says she hoped the genre gets recognised as a South African sound.

She also wants the producers, DJs and vocalists of the aforementioned genre to get empowered on a global level.

“My hope is that this beautiful genre called Amapiano grows around the world as it is, but that the world knows & appreciates the fact that it is a South African sound. And that South African artists/Dj’s/producers etc. are empowered on a global scale & not appropriated,” she wrote.
