Sexual orientation is a complex and personal aspect of one’s identity. There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question, “who am I really attracted to?”

While a large section of the population is attracted to people of the opposite gender, there are people who are attracted to people of the same gender.

If you are quite confused about your sexual orientation, then here are some sure shot signs that indicate you aren’t interested in the opposite gender.

1. Lack of attraction

One of the most obvious signs that someone is not interested in the opposite gender is that they don’t feel sexually or romantically attracted to them. If you don’t feel drawn to people of the opposite gender, then you are not heterosexual.

2. Discomfort in flirting

If you find it uncomfortable to flirt with people of the opposite gender, then it is a sure shot sign that you have no interest in them romantically or sexually. When you feel the urge to flirt with someone, you will feel a pull towards them.

When you don’t have any physical desire towards someone of the opposite gender, then you are surely not into them. When you are attracted to someone, you feel a desire for sexual intimacy that also includes physical actions like kisses, hugs or simple touches on the arm, back or waist.

4. Attraction to people of the same gender

If you feel a consistent urge to form friendships with the same gender, then it is a sign that you are attracted to a person of the same gender. You might want to pursue a romantic relationship with them and this can be a sign that you are homosexual.
