Bongani Fassie talks about what led him to become a drug user.
During an interview on BET’s Behind the Story, the musician said he hated drugs despite seeing his late mother, Brenda Fassie take drugs.
He however revealed that he later became a drug user after his mother’s death.
Bongani said his mother’s death made him consider drug intake.
“I started using drugs because I was running away from the fact that I actually had lost my mom, Brenda Fassie… I hated drugs so much, even watching my mom do drugs… I hated so much,” he said.
Speaking about drugs, it was further revealed that he splurged millions on it; he was also prodigal with the money received after his mother’s death, as he used at least R70 000 on rentals.
