on

Julius Malema claims people are being bullied by banks in South Africa.

During the EFF 10th Anniversary closing press conference that took place in Johannesburg, the political leader said banks in South Africa have been weaponised.

He backed up his claim by stating that his bank account has been closed by FNB.

he also revealed that his son who is 17-year-old struggled with opening a bank account as the banks have made it impossible for him.

The claim has garnered lots of attention, especially on social media.

“30 years later we don’t have a bank and financial institutions of our own. We have no one to blame but us,” a tweep wrote.

“I have been bullied by FNB and Absa too they have closed my business accounts not once not twice, always have to explain myself where am I getting the payments from, they seat with my funds for more than 7 months, making me to run from pillar to post for nothing,” another wrote.

“FNB is one racist entity ,i left them because i lost a lot of money banking with them.Their tellers also profile us when they see how much is in your account .They wanna know how you make so much money.”
