Kelly Khumalo canned from another festival’s line up

Kelly Khumalo has been cancelled from the line-up of the Maseru Jazz Festival.

This is the second gig she’s been removed from due to her late ex-lover, Senzo Meyiwa who was murdered on the 26th of October 2014, in her home at Volsorous.

It was reported by an investigator on the case that the singer contacted one of the accused a few months before the soccer star was killed.

The festival is set to take place on September 24 at Maseru Park and Entertainment in Bokone, Mahikeng.

The organisers of the fest confirmed she’s been canned from the gig.

“As Maseru Park, we [are] here to inform you we have seen comments on social media about one of our guest performers … we need to inform our public and society we are putting Kelly Khumalo on hold.”

“We respect the professionalism of the legal team on the processes. The management of Maseru Park, in the interest of our jazz festival, have taken the decision to relieve Kelly Khumalo of the obligation to perform at our festival and we acknowledge she is not guilty until proven so.”

The organisers are set to replace Kelly Khumalo.

“We might surprise you with the replacement, depending on the availability of the artist.”
