While working from home is the new norms after pandemic, it can have a few downfalls too.
Being productive while surrounded by distraction, balancing work-life while you are deprived of any help from your support staff, all these factors can make working from home a bit challenging.
And it’s not just SA but people across the world are redefining their work culture.
Here are some tips that most people follow to be productive and efficient while working from home.
1. Finding a structure in flexibility
Work from home is all about flexible timing and to work as per your convenience as long as you meet your deadlines or complete your work on time. Being away from the fixed routine of office work, many people start taking this fexibility for granted; this results in working for longer hours than needed, not meeting deadlines etc. It is therefore important to fid some structure in your flexible working hours. Avoid taking longer lunch breaks or taking a nap during office hours. Have a routine and plan your breaks and lunch accordingly just like you would do on any normal day in office. This would help you stick to your work routine religiously.
2. Break the monotony
We all know how working from home can become monotonous easily. With no colleagues to talk with and no one to go for an evening stroll in the office campus, life during work from home can feel very suffocating. It is therefore very important to break the monotony. One great way to do that is to keep changing your workstation; you can even set your workstation in the balcony where you can have a view of the outside world.
3. Get family members and children involved in doing household chores
