Tsakane secondary school girls consume rat poison

Four female students of Tsakane Secondary School reportedly ingested poisonous substances.

According to PSFALIVE, the girls consumed rat poison and 2 out of the four were pronounced dead, while the other two were rushed to the hospital.


The motive behind the ingestion of rat poison is said to be unknown but investigation is currently underway.

Twitter users flooded the news with various reactions.

“Cancelling assembly, those morning prayers at school was a big mistake,” a tweep wrote.

“As a parent this is terrifying to watch, it’s honestly by God’s grace when you send your child to school and they come back in one piece nowadays. We really need to cover these children and teachers in prayer hey, ngoba kubi kubi,” another wrote.

Lady Du said, “Can we kindly take this rat poison issue serious we have a lot of kids committing suicide it’s scary, shops should stop selling rat poison to kids; it’s a trend it’s scary. We need to act now @Lesufi please. We need more awareness on mental health in school.”
