AKA is the most nominated artist for SAMAs 2023
Kiernan AKA Forbes leads the list of nominees for the 2023 South African Music Awards (Samas).
The late rapper is this year’s most nominated artist with 7 nods for his album Mass Country, which was released shortly after his death in February.
Below are the categories in which he was nominated;
- Male Artist of the Year
- Album of the Year
- Best Engineered Album
- Best Hip-Hop Album
- Best Collaboration (Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C)
- Best Collaboration (Company featuring Kiddominant)
- Best Produced Music Video (for Lemons (Lemonade) feat. Nasty C.
K.O follows after AKA with 5 nominations.
In August, it was announced that the late rapper’s album, Mass Country reached Platinum status.
The Forbes family and close friends were at the Vth Season office to receive the plaque and celebrate the milestone.
