Coffee is safe for the body only when it is consumed within a restricted limit.

Drinking more than 4 cups of coffee in a day is unsafe for the body. The common side effects due to heavy consumption of coffee are unexplained and persistent headaches. It also leads to irregular heart beat.

1. Be careful about the sugar content

For those who like to have their coffee sweet, you should be mindful about the amount of sugar you consume with each cup of coffee.

Do not overdo your sugar intake. Studies have associated sugar intake with low mood. Apart from this high sugar can also cause several health complications in the long run.

2. It might lead to an energy crash later

No doubt coffee keeps you awake throughout the day but the energy rush it gives is just temporary.

The energy that you are borrowing during the night time is often repaid during the day time.

Also known as caffeine crash, this occurs when coffee is consumed during bedtime or in excess. It leads to tiredness, difficulty to focus and increased mood swings.

3. The adverse effects of coffee

In today’s era, coffee or caffeine are some of the most commonly consumed substances. It has both positive and negative effects.

However, what they don’t realize is that caffeine provides temporary relief. It releases dopamine and serotonin in our neurons which help relax our bodies. But, daily consumption of coffee may disturb your sleep cycle, digestive system, decrease your appetite, disturb your immune system, and lower your concentration power. This may consequently affect one’s reading ability, cognitive functions, increase anxiety, morning tiredness, and even increase a person’s metabolic age.

What is the ideal amount of coffee one should consume?
